Residence Hall Association
About
The Residence Hall Association (RHA) is one of the largest student organizations on campus. Our mission is to make your hall your home.
Programming is one of the most visible functions of RHA. Serving on our executive board are our Internal, Service, and Campus Wide Programming Directors who provide a plethora of RHA programs ranging from social, educational, and service events. Some of our well known traditional programs include the Safe Trick or Treat Carnival, the Haunted Tours, and RedHawk Hunt.
RHA oversees Each of Miami’s 40 residential halls is headed by a Community Leadership Team (CLT) President, who serves as the representative of RHA’s initiatives in that hall. The president oversees the Community Leadership Team, the body of students who plan and provide the footwork for these initiatives. Community Leadership Teams are made up of the following members: President, Eco Rep, Living Learning Community (LLC) Rep, Advocacy Rep, and general members. These students strive to make each hall have a positive living experience.
Advocacy is another signature feature of RHA. RHA believes that students have a right, as well as an obligation, to play a significant role in the formation and application of residence life policy. With this belief and as the residential student governing body, it is our duty to advocate for every student living on campus. So, if you’re experiencing any problems or have an idea to make your on campus living experience more enjoyable do not hesitate to contact us or your CLTs.
RHA isn’t unique to Miami; it is part of an international movement dedicated to enhancing the on-campus residential experience. The Miami University RHA chapter affiliates with the National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) and the Central Atlantic Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (CAACURH). Each year, RHA sends a delegation of students to the regional and national conferences, where institutions share insights on how to make campus and residential living even better.
RHA provides excellent leadership opportunities for every student on Miami’s campus. Talk to your Resident Directors or RAs about joining your Community Leadership Team (CLT) to get involved!
